What is dynamic product ads?
Dynamic product ads are ads assembled automatically from your product catalogue, so the images, names and prices shown to each person are chosen by the platform rather than designed in advance.

Why the catalogue is the creative
Say a store connects a catalogue of 3,900 products and runs a dynamic campaign. One ad unit might show four items side by side, picked for the person seeing it, with the image, title and price pulled straight from the catalogue feed.
That means every design decision has already been made in the feed. A product with a dark image on a dark background disappears in the frame. A title written as an internal style code tells the viewer nothing. A price that is out of date makes the click a disappointment. None of these can be fixed in the ad, because there is no ad to fix.
The same feed also decides what is eligible to be shown at all. Products missing an image, a price or an availability value are quietly excluded, so a store can be advertising a fraction of its range without noticing.
The counts here are an example.
Why it matters
Dynamic campaigns are how most stores advertise a large catalogue without producing creative for every product, which makes them a practical part of the visitors lever for any range too big to design ads for by hand.
Because the creative is generated from data, catalogue quality becomes advertising quality. Clear images that read at small sizes, honest titles, correct prices and accurate stock are what make the ads work, and they improve free listings, shopping placements and on site browsing at the same time. That is a rare piece of work that pays into several channels at once.
For a store owner the decision is about where effort goes. On a large catalogue, an afternoon spent improving feed images and titles usually changes more than an afternoon spent adjusting budgets, because it improves every impression the catalogue will ever serve.
Common mistakes
- Assuming the catalogue used for ads is the same one used elsewhere. Different connections carry different fields, and products can be missing from one and present in another.
- Using images that only work on a product page. In a small ad frame, a busy or low contrast image loses to a clear one every time.
- Letting out of stock products stay in the catalogue. Paying for a click to a product nobody can buy is the most avoidable waste in ecommerce advertising.
- Never checking which products are actually being shown. Dynamic campaigns concentrate on a small share of the catalogue, and the rest can sit unserved for months.
